Courtesy of The University of Texas Video Game Archive, we have located early footage of Crusader: No Remorse. Donated to the videogame museum by Warren Spector, this video shows the state of the game in February 1995, approximately seven months before the final release.

As one would expect, there are many differences from the gameplay showcased in this video than what was in the release of the game. Reduced level architecture, MIDI music, different sound effects, lava, and graphics. What's particularly fascinating to me is how the cutscenes for the game are apparently already done by February 1995. It seems as if the story was completely fleshed out a long while before the game shipped.

This clip has been archived and will soon be available for download in Echo Sector's museum. Keep your eyes peeled for a plethora of Crusader art assets directly from the development discs.
Article: Early No Remorse footage

It looks to me that, aside from all the differences Keenan already mentioned, those FMVs were rendered with a higher frame rate (especially noticeable during FMV with The Wizard) and without interlacing. What do you think?

I wouldn't be surprised if the cutscenes weren't even rendered by that point. It looks like they come from the VHS tapes on which they were recorded. Guessing it's interspersed with the game footage there (judging by all the fade-outs).

Heh nice find. It's always interesting to see the early developement versions of the games you have played. :D

It also looks like you were aiming with the mouse in this version. I'm kinda glad they did not used that system or atleast should have made it optional.

And I think the pain sounds that were used are from Bioforge, which is not a surprise because both are Origin games and many other sounds are shared between them ^^
