Their extras are sorely lacking currently, but hopefully in the future they will add our site's contents for download. I've been in contact with GOG regarding the extras and it is currently awaiting approval from EA.

Edit 6/10: The <a href="http://www.wcnews.com/" target="_blank">Wing Commander CIC</a> has celebrated the release of No Remorse on GOG with "Crusader Day." <a href="http://www.wcnews.com/news/4265" target="_blank">Check it out!</a>

Me too! Funnily enough, it released on my 1000th day as a GOG member. :)

That is awesome. Well hopefully this should resolve the bulk of issues with those who are new to DOSBox. It's not that I cant get the legal copy I own to work I just am lazy and quite honestly, as awesome as GOG has been to me in regards to providing me with the all-so-important SpaceQuest series, I just had to pay my tribute.

Just joined GOG.com.

For the third time in my life, I bought a Crusader game (second time No Remorse).  :D

According to the site, it's compatible with XP, Vista, and 7.

Did they actually make it compatible, or is that LIES?

Can confirm works on XP and Win7 32 and 64-bit. Streamlined installer - no configuration needed. Real smooth.

It's like playing it on my Dos machine circa 1995 except it can actually handle it! No fiddling with cycles, mounting drives...

WHOOOO

Hmm, if I can play it under Win 7 64bit without having to play via Dosbox I might ponder purchasing it (again). 6 bucks isn't too much to ask to show my love for one of my all time favourite games. Does that site accept PayPal?

The release doesn't make it a Windows game; it still uses DOSBox. And yes, GOG accepts PayPal.

No real setup required. If you're good with DosBOX, probably not. I just wanted something easily deployable and this did it!

Yeah, if you already have the game and know the precise settings to get the performance you want from the game, probably nothing this can do. If you don't like Dosbox or similar programs, however, the simplicity is a godsend.  Download, install, double-click, play, done. It's even pre-patched.

EDIT: And, of course, if the game does well enough, it might start wheels turning at EA.

Also, it doesn't matter if you break your CDs. You have a permanent lifetime copytime digitally.

I have the contents of my CDs backed up on my external HD and also my regular HD. Whenever I play Crusader I just mount the directory they are in as CD-ROM drive. I still don't get how this works. Do I click an exe file which automatically starts DosBox preconfigured and loads Crusader automatically?

You download the installer, it launches - you specify an installation directory (if you wish) and it dumps the contents into that folder. Shortcut on desktop launches DOSBox preconfigured which then executes the game. I haven't taken an indepth look but it looks more or less like DOSBox launching and pulling in a config file pertaining to the installation of Crusader (clockcycles, mounting instructions, etc).

Sounds logical. In fact, I launched an old X-Com game through steam and that fired up a DosBox as well, I guess that was preconfigured also.

I decided to sign up at GOG.com (well I did that for the question thing for Tony Zurovec really) and show my support to my favourite game of all times and bought a digital copy to go along my hard copy. Now I hate you Keenan, as I went shopping more, hehe. Picked up Master of Orion I & II in a package deal and Master of Magic. Good old retro times and nostalgia!

I got bit by the GOG bug early on. Here's my game shelf.

Impressive!  :mask:

Many of those games I still have in the original packaging (Tex Murphy series, Police Quest series, Crusader series, Dungeon Keeper, Planescape Torment, Gabriel Knight, Myst, Broken Sword series, MDK, Darkfall series...).

Offtopic: Recently I bought, played and finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Excellent game, almost as good as the original (but STILL not as good).  :)
